To all PHPA Members, 

We are very excited to share with you that, for the first time, we have entered into a formalized strategic alliance with the NHLPA. This represents the only time in our collective histories that the NHLPA and PHPA have entered into this kind of agreement.

This alliance will immediately bring about improved unity between our closely linked associations as well as strengthen our position as we advance matters most important to the membership.

This is about a shared vision between our two unions to ensure the best representation for our collective memberships, including renewed strength in bargaining.  It also formalizes a commitment to shared resources such as legal and people operations, which will make us both stronger.

I want to make clear that while this agreement will support our work at the PHPA, the agreement spells out that our two unions will remain separate, fully autonomous entities. 

The NHLPA has been an incredible partner, continually bringing outstanding expertise and support to our positive and growing relationship. I look forward to continuing to work with them closely as we advocate for our collective members.
