PHPA Announces New Education Partnership with Université Laval’s Faculty of Business Administration

May 15, 2026

The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) is proud to announce a new partnership between the PHPA and Université Laval’s Faculty of Business Administration (FSA ULaval), expanding educational opportunities for PHPA members, alumni, and their families.

This collaboration enhances the PHPA’s ongoing commitment to support members in their personal and professional growth, both during and after their playing careers, while strengthening access to high-quality French-language education for our Francophone membership.

Through this partnership, PHPA members will benefit from:

  • Support in navigating program options, admissions, course registration, and academic administration — with flexibility that accounts for the unique demands of a professional hockey career.
  • Opportunities to be recognized for exceptional academic achievement in for-credit programs.
  • Access to preferred rates on select non-credit executive education courses offered by FSA ULaval.

Brian Ramsay, Executive Director of the PHPA, remarked: “We are proud to team up with FSA ULaval to expand access to premier French-language education for our members and their families. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to providing resources that support our diverse membership both on and off the ice.”

Margaret Schomaker, Vice Dean of Academics, Student Affairs and International Accreditations at FSA ULaval, emphasized the significance of this collaboration: ” With this new partnership, FSA ULaval is strengthening its role as a leading francophone institution for the education of professional athletes and their families. The demanding career of professional hockey builds skills—resilience, quick decision-making, teamwork—that translate naturally into the business world. We are proud to support PHPA members through this transition.”
